i dunno Outlandish ideals, extravagant stereotypes, self-indulgent plots, and overenthusiastic spasms of special effects drown the screen in such vibrant colors that real life gradually becomes dull in comparison. The slightest shades of realism are preceded by unenthusiastic hype and met with a yawn, while any hints of life threatening to burst from behind the celluloid inspire a gaggle of horrified gasps or, even better, a collective fit of fearful speechlessness, the purest and sincerest form of flattery that artists of such a demanding medium and desensitizing line of work hope to get.i dunno
